IntroductionGreetings to everyone reading this. Let me introduce myself. My name is Bright Argento and/or AscendantKing. I am very passionate about art, writing and reading. I vibe to sad songs, movie soundtracks and songs that are generally dark or fantasy-like. I mostly get inspiration from quotes or songs that I hear. I sometimes do get motivation from books, and it’s most of the time the biggest scene in the book a.k.a me spoiling the whole plot of the book when redrawing the scene.

About My Art Career So FarI actually started art when I was really young—about two and a half years old. But I actually started getting into art when I was to the world of Warrior Cats, where it all started for me. I started redrawing drawings made by CascadingSerenity, someone very familiar in the Warrior Cats community as artist I bet. That was back in 2016/2017. I dropped out of traditional drawing due to lack of motivation and issues I had with drawing.It was December 2019 when I picked up that old passion. I started using my phone and IbisPaint and my finger. The first thing I did was making a reference sheet of my very first sona—well, that’s debatable, since my first OC was Toothstar (my first Warrior Cats OC), who I redesigned and now turned into a Shapeshifter. For thirty minutes straight I thought about a name, and finally I came up with one. Oakleaf just popped into my head because of the necklace around my neck—a Silver Oakleaf from the Ranger’s Apprentice series written by John Flanagan. And that’s basically how my whole hobby and passion for art started.Ever since 2019, I have been drawing, starting with art requests. Somewhere in 2020, I started doing commissions and got a lot more serious. Somewhere end 2020 I bought a drawing tablet.
Regarding this, you might understand that I have a life outside art. Meaning I can’t do art full-time, so please take that in account when ordering a commission from me or doing an art trade. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

About My Writing SkillsJust like art, I have been doing this for over years now. I can’t remember when exactly I started, but somewhere in my childhood I started writing the craziest thing on my little laptop. I only started doing this more seriously back in 2016 when I was into Warrior Cats. I wrote Toothstar’s background, dropped out of my writing passions, and picked it up after three years. In 2019, I started writing again. I built the world around Oakleaf—most of you know her as Argento or Silver—and expanded my fantasies to more exciting things, such as someone who is trying to overthrow the current ruler and reclaim the throne.

As you noticed I have not revealed my gender and I will not any time soon. Make assumptions, go ahead. I will only accept they/them and he/him. Anything else I will not tolerate at the slightest.Nicknames and “Pet” Names
I will not have it if you call me feminine names (such as “babe”, “bestie”, “girl”, “gal”, etc.). Nicknames such as “dude”, “bro”, etc. are fine. Never call me “pup”, “cutie”, “sweetie”, “honey”, “darling”, whatever.Opening Up
I will open up when I want to. I never do, especially not with strangers. So don’t get angry or make a fuss about it when I’ve clearly shown that I do not want to.Friend Confidentiality
When I say “friend confidentiality” I mean it exactly how I worded it. If I tell you something in the DMs I have not publicly said in my bio, in a post, in a comment, etc., I expect you to keep this to yourself. I know I sound like an asshole, but I don’t fucking care. This includes my personal information, vents, and education/work related information. Deciding to bring my private comversation to the public for whatever reason will be considered doxxing.Venting
Keep your personal matters away from me. I don’t want to hear it. If you’re trying to get me to sympathize you, it’s not working. It’s actually doing the entire opposite. No guilt tripping, gaslighting, venting and ranting, blackmailing someone else, trying to get close to me for whatever reason you benefit from only, I will not have it. Unless you’re a close friend of mine, I won’t take your shit.Sarcasm
Although I am very fond of using sarcasm and jokes, there is a catch to it. I only ever use it in my fictional stories for the sole purpose of entertainment. In reality, I really don’t understand sarcasm and jokes. If you’re joking, I take it as accusing me, bullying me, stabbing my back, etc. If you’re joking, I can’t tell from your message what the tone of your voice is, therefore I won’t be able to figure your intentions. This is very different with friends, because I’ve known them for a longer time and have gotten used to their typing/talking ways. At least explain your sarcasm or joke to prevent misunderstandings. If you want to prevent misunderstandings, speak your damn mind. Stop beating around the bush. And don’t expect me to beat around the bush. I’ll say what comes to my mind and say it unfiltered. And if you’re not ready to hear my part or my opinion, then you shouldn’t have asked for it. I show zero sympathy or empathy as I don’t understand the two.Conversations
If I decide to let you in—open up about myself—don’t rush me into things. I will adjust to you in my own time. I will not hesitate to end a conversation or friendship if I catch you going behind my back about something. If I tend to show lack of attention to you, this may be the consequence of making acquaintance with you, deciding on how I respond to you, or simply because I am preoccupied. I do not answer “hello” messages—I’ll likely ignore you or block you if you continue this behavior. It’s extremely annoying and pisses me off. If you message me regarding (art) business, come straight to the point and stop beating around the bush. The exceptions to this rule are friends and mutuals I know well enough. I don’t like people approaching me, especially when it’s for no reason at all.Spamming
Just no. I don’t care what the spam is about. This goes for my comment section, my Amino wall, my DMs, etc. If you’re a complete stranger, you’re blocked. If you’re a friend, I’ll tolerate it.Roleplaying

ArtOwn Benefit
What I absolutely will not tolerate is claiming as your own, tracing, (heavily) referencing, copying/pasting, (heavily) inspired by artworks, color picking or anything along and outside those lines. Even if it’s for learning purposes (and you don’t post it).Reposting
Reposting is a no-no too. I don’t care if you credit me or not, don’t repost. Do not repost my artworks and any other piece I post on my socials (Amino, Instagram, Discord, ToyHouse, etc.). Don’t care if you credited me properly or not. If you break this rule, you will have the golden ticket to being blocked and made a beware of. Only exception are people who commission me and wish to repost their commissioned piece(s).Shipping
No. Unless we both agreed in union to ship our characters, you will not draw or roleplay them in the same artwork with romantic purposes. Friendship purposes is fine as long as you keep my characters acting in-character and we are both (close) friends.

“Are your commissions open?”

“Can you do free art?”
Unless stated otherwise on social media, I sadly don’t make free art.

“Do you mind notifying me when you reopen your commissions?”
I can’t notify every single client by message when my commissions reopen. However, I can add you to my waiting list.

“Why do you take so long to finish my commission?”
As stated above, I sadly can’t do art full-time. The time I take varies from weeks to months or I might even message you the next day after commissioning saying I finished your commission. Please, try to refrain from consistently asking when I will finish or when I will start.

“I want to cancel my commission, can you give me a refund?”
As stated in my Terms of Service, under no circumstance I will refund the commission unless I cancel it.

“Your prices are so expensive. Can you take it down?”
No, I will not haggle my prices. By commissioning me, you pay for my time, effort, resources, and style. Due to this, my commissions might seem “expensive”. I put a lot of time into my work, do the amount of research necessary for the commission, try over and over again, and also try to keep it as much in my original style as possible.

“I want to draw one of your characters, where can I view their information and reference sheets?”
All my most used characters are uploaded to ToyHouse (scroll up this page to find the links).

“Hello, I am a business profile. Would you like to do a follow-for-follow/promotion art for me?”
Especially business art I will not do for free. But yes, I will consider making art for you as a paid commission. I do not do follow-for-follows, “please like my post” and such.
